How the USAMU Custom Firearms Shop Helps Soldier-Olympians
Since 1956, the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit has had Soldiers compete in every Summer Olympics. Earning a spot on Team USA is no easy task though. Not only do the Soldiers need to have expert skills, but they also need the best quality gear. That's where the USAMU Custom Firearms Shop comes in.
The shop is a mix of Soldiers and civilians with over 100 years of gunsmithing expertise. They support all the competitive teams: Service Rifle, Service Pistol, Action Shooting, Shotgun and International Rifle, as well as the Instructor Training Group. The two Olympic teams (Shotgun and International Rifle) require a number of extra steps as the gunsmiths must ensure each Olympic hopeful is training ...

Lmao, why are they dressed like 80s bad guys?
Where do you find this TC?
What type of air rifle is she using and what mods are on it?
This is cool too and it has it's applications. It's still vital to train with the real deal to get used to the swing of the rucksack. It's not just the weight you have to overcome, it's learning how to become one with your pack. That's how I got really good at the wooble run you do with a heavy ass rucksack and at maneuvering in between objects and foliage with it on. Otherwise you'll be making all kinds of noise out in the field because you aren't used to the extra surface area attached to your body. Don't be the guy that draws attention to your team, nobody likes that guy. Strength and Honor, gentlemen. 🇺🇲
i would like to join in army
Hell yeah!
Good
The size of that magazine is insane! I’d imagine it snags on everything.
Very useful. I just feel uncomfortable having my thumb that close to the end my snubs barrel. Any advice?
Salute to AMU. Retired 11B. 8yrs AD, 19VTARNG and when my body gave out, was staff and instructed MMship a lot. Went to Sniper School in Panama before DA re-activated it and one Army guy who went to USMC Sniper School and AMU. One key lesson if I may pass on: "The Iron sights on my rifle never fogged up, never had the battery run out and the lens never cracked." After they shoot beyond max effective range, then let them put on scopes. We WILL face a World War and they will not be able to churn out enuf gadgets to turn a moron into a Marksman which is what they are doing now. There is much more to Advanced Rifle MMship (I retired in 08 and terminology and expertise is obviously dated) than what the old joke of an FM stated. Tactics must be part of it. Anyways, SALUTE AMU.
US ARMY Strong!🇺🇸💯🪖🎯
Salute wildman! Retired 11B here.
Pew pew
great video, great competition
Very nice to meet you. Congratulations. Make us proud at the Olympics (I know in my heart that you will).
Definitely rooting for a fellow 11Bang! I hope to see Dustin Taylor in one of these. I have shot with him and pressure only improves him.
"Cali is banning this sport. Spreading to other blue states. Eventually it's only for the privileged."
me watching this for my bb gun
When will they send her to Ukraine ??
She's cute. Good on ya! Keep up the good work.
*Boy? Girl? We'll never know.*

US ARMY Marksmanship Unit!
Please tell DT that the American Skeet community is out here cheering for him.
Awesome.
Thanks from an old Vietnam Marine. USMC 1966-1970. TET VET.
Be all you can be SSG. Good luck and as a disabled US Army Veteran, you make me proud!
The way he did this won’t tell you anything about point of impact. He basically “aimed” the shotgun at the patterning board. I can take any shotgun with a straight barrel and move it until the bead is “aimed” at the spot on the board. To do the POI test correctly, put tight chokes in the barrel, step off 15-16 yards and mount and shoot the spot 4 times JUST LIKE YOU WOULD SHOOT A BIRD OR CLAY GOING DEAD AWAY FROM YOU. DON’T aim like he did. Then look at your pattern and determine if you are shooting right where you are looking.
* What this guy is doing is adjusting the pattern of his gun so it will throw that pattern where he wants it to go. If you don't aim the gun at a certain point, you don't know how the gun throws its pattern. Of course, his gun fits him properly to begin with, and his shooting eye is properly located. You can take any gun and move the barrel so it's pointed at the target, but can you consistently do so in a hunting situation, or in International Skeet competition where your gun is not pre mounted before the target emerges? If you do what you are saying to do, and the gun doesn't fit you, your pattern will be anywhere but where you want it to be. Your method is actually used to highlight any errors between the gun and the shooter so that corrections can be made. These errors include adjustments to the gun stock as well as any corrections needed on how the shooter shoulders his gun.
Awesome,go Army
I had my bomar sights put on m1911 by an amu gunsmith. I Bought an 1911 from the gun club there. Great resource to the country.
Very concise and informative. How did you get your second shot off so fast? Did you move the swich to change barrels or does your gun have double triggers?
Hitting these targets the way he does just once is fast, but hitting each target twice before it falls is jaggernaut mode
What make and model air rifle was used for the demonstration?
Crosman Challenger it seems
Thanks Mate, this is good knowledge that some folks don’t have. Keep up the great work.
🔥 'Promo SM'
That's not Skeet, it's Trap... Either way most competitive shooters prefer an over/under shotgun, like the Browning Citori with interchangeable 28 gauge barrels.
In the ADF we were basically taught when shooting prone to have the rifle basically on target and then approach it from 45 degrees and take your position from there My favourite moment during basic was when we did our first shoot (5 rounds to make sure you’re not a total idiot). They styer could change from right to left handed but only the armoury was allowed to do that so all right handed people took their issued rifle but left handed people were waiting on the armoury to change theirs so they shared one prepared by the instructors A mate of mine who was left handed did the shoot first, we were specifically told to only perform the actions ordered when touching the weapons. We were to fire 5 times on command The “go on” command was issued and my mates rifle goes “brrrrrt!” An instructor comes over screaming “why did you do that? the weapon should be in semi!!!” My mate goes “this is a left handed rifle I was told not to touch until i was going to fire, I didn’t set it up”, the instructor was like “ahhh yea I did that, I should have double checked, my bad you passed” First thing my mate says when he comes back to the shed was “well full auto works” hahaha I’ll never forget that
I dunno if anyone will see this but assuming you have a weapon where you can’t get a proper cheek weld due to the way the optics are mounted (it’s done in a way to preserve the original condition of a historical piece and the stock can’t be modified either) is there a technique for achieving consistent eye position? I’ve just mentally developed a position on a different part of my jaw but watching this it makes me feel it’s not an ideal technique
Thank you, Sgt. Gallagher and U.S.A.M.U. 🇺🇸
Thank you Sgt. Hein and U.S.A.M.U. 🇺🇸
Who wrote this IG there's a lot of BS in here
One thing i think was left out, but can be seen here as well as in #2 of this series. So far as the head position, the nose is positioned foward as to almost touch the charging handle. For peep iron sights accuracy, its important for the eye to be as close to the peep as possible without getting hit when the rifle recoils. Most modern scopes on the other hand, need eye relief of 3 1/2 - 4".
I knew 1 guy that could do that my coworker @18yr old now in the Army. I tell people he could shoot clay with a 9mm and here you guys doing the samething
Anyone that thinks this is no big deal go try 😂😂😂
Very well done. You would feel quite at home at a Project Appleseed shoot ...
It's possible to instal the M1 Carbine rear sight or even the T105E1 M1 Garand in the Mini-14?
Well done. Congratulations 👍
Those doubles at end were killer
NAVY!
I will use this educational resource when out at the range to improve my marksmanship with my AR-15 rifle. Thank you SSG Green!
